Название: Soft Robotics: A DIY Introduction to Squishy, Stretchy, and Flexible Robots Автор: Matthew Borgatti, Kari Love Издательство: Maker Media, Inc. Год: December 13, 2018 Страниц: 224 Язык: английский Формат: epub (true) Размер: 49.1 MB
Soft robotics is an emerging field that approaches robots in new ways, enabling them to operate in environments that are unstructured or unstable and to perform tasks that require delicacy and malleability. It's all about engineering with soft materials — silicone, cloth, balloons, flexible plastics — and combining them in different ways to come up with novel, approachable, and surprising solutions to interesting problems. This book introduces soft-robotics concepts to students, inventors, and makers with easy-to-understand explanations and hands-on DIY projects. The projects use a wide range of tools and techniques — including microcontrollers, 3D printing, laser cutting, mold making, casting, and heat sealing — to create intriguing soft robots and devices. It is tinkering at its finest! If a traditional robot is made of mostly hard components—for example, metal or plastic—a soft robot is a robot in which primary functional components of the robot are made of soft and flexible materials. These can be lots of different things, from fabric and paper to flexible plastics, silicone, and other rubbers. Even living heart cells have been incorporated into soft robots.
Название: Multistage Interconnection Network Design for Engineers Автор: Shilpa Gupta Издательство: Bentham Science Publishers Год: December 19, 2023 Страниц: 238 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true), epub Размер: 22.0 MB
This textbook provides a quick and easy understanding of multistage interconnection networks (MINs) for engineers. The book contents focus on the design, performance metrics, and evaluation of these networks which are crucial in modern computer architecture. The contents equip engineering students, apprentices and professionals with in-depth knowledge and analysis of MINS, enabling them to build complex computer architectures for efficient data communications and cost effective solutions for circuit design. The book starts with an introduction to MINS and subsequently progresses to the evaluation of a range of MINS (SEN, Gamma-Minus, FTSN, FTGN, SEGIN). Tremendous advancements have been reported in the computer and communication industries due to the high demands of big data analysis. This led to the use of parallel and distributed processors to play a part. These parallel processors have to be connected to a large number of memory modules. The connection between these processors and memory modules must be highly reliable for efficient Big Data analysis. Multistage interconnection networks (MIN) provide data communication between processors and memory modules at efficient speed with reasonably high reliability.

Название: Structural Decision Diagrams in Digital Test: Theory and Applications Автор: Raimund Ubar, Jaan Raik, Maksim Jenihhin, Artur Jutman Издательство: Birkhäuser/Springer Серия: Computer Science Foundations and Applied Logic Год: 2024 Страниц: 608 Язык: английский Формат: pdf (true) Размер: 12.4 MB
This is the first book that sums up test-related modeling of digital circuits and systems by a new structural-decision-diagrams model. The model represents structural and functional information jointly and opens a new area of research. The book introduces and discusses applications of two types of structural decision diagrams (DDs): low-level, structurally synthesized binary DDs (SSBDDs) and high-level DDs (HLDDs) that enable diagnostic modeling of complex digital circuits and systems. In this book, we present a novel approach to modeling digital circuits and systems by graphs, constituting structural decision diagrams jointly representing structural and functional information about digital circuits and systems. The model allows multilevel and hierarchical representation to cope with the complexity of systems. The primary objective and the novelty of the new model is enabling uniform and formal reasoning of cause-effect diagnostic relations between the faults and behavior of circuit components to support digital test and verification solutions. The difficulties in developing analytical high-level and hierarchical cross-level approaches to test generation and fault analysis are related to missing suitable tools and models. The register transfer level models, instruction set architectures, dataflow charts or hardware description languages (HDL, VHDL, Verilog, System C) are not well suited for formal cause-effect reasoning and test generation, forcing engineers to settle for heuristic and approximate methods, which, as a rule, do not provide satisfactory solutions.
