Название: Programming ESP32: Learn MicroPython Coding and Electronics
Автор: Simon Monk
Издательство: MonkMakes Press
Год: 2024
Страниц: 187
Язык: английский
Формат: pdf
Размер: 24.1 MB

This book will teach you Python programming and some basic electronics without assuming any prior knowledge of either subject. The book initially focusses on Python programming, building up a Morse Code example. The book is suitable for most ESP32 boards, but concentrates on the most popular ESP32 Lite and the ESP32 DevKit 1. In the chapters on electronics, breadboard layouts are provided for both of these boards. ESP32 is a family of processors developed by Espressif Systems (that’s where ESP comes from in the name) that, notably, includes WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities. The processor chip itself is used on many different development boards. Sometimes the processor is placed on the board directly but, at other times, a module is placed on the board. This module, that encloses the processor and a chip, is covered by a metal cap; its design complies with international standards - CE marked for the EU and FCC for the United States. Learning to program, like any skill, requires practice and simple straight-forward examples that you can work through. In this book, you will be led step-by-step through example programs, intermingled with explanations and background.

Размер: 30.9 MB

This book explores different facets of millimeter wave systems, which form a central part of 5G systems. It explains how these systems serve as a foundational building block of 5G-Advanced/6G as these systems evolve. Millimeter Wave Communications in 5G and Towards 6G focuses on millimeter wave channel modeling, radio frequency (RF) and antenna level constraints imposed on beamforming, beamforming design for link level incorporating the RF/antenna constraints and the channel structure, as well as system level deployment considerations. With significant academic and industrial experience, the authors are well-equipped in explaining how the millimeter wave research developed, the fundamental principles/math beneath the technology, and in explaining precisely the “Why?” behind the “What?” that make the 5G-NR specifications. The authors examine point-to-point systems at a single link level and show how the traditional sub-6 GHz-based beamforming procedures simplify to a simplistic signal processing approach of directional beam scanning. This book examines the foundational background that led to specific choices in the millimeter wave part of the 5G-NR spec as well as chart out the roadmap in terms of future research and development activities in this arena. The book ends by providing a scope of future research in this area. This book is geared towards both introductory as well as advanced researchers in both industry and academia working in the areas of 5G, 5G-Advanced and 6G communications. It would also be useful for senior undergraduate and graduate students in universities focusing on wireless communications topics.

Название: Raspberry Pi IoT In Python Using GPIO Zero, 2nd Edition
Автор: Harry Fairhead, Mike James
Издательство: IO Press
Год: 2024
Страниц: 260
Язык: английский
Формат: pdf (true)
Размер: 24.7 MB

The Raspberry Pi makes an ideal match for the Internet of Things. But to put it to good use in IoT you need two areas of expertise, electronics and programming and because of the way hardware and software engineering tend to occupy separate niches, you may need help with combining the two which is what this book sets out to do. The Raspberry Pi family is an attractive set of devices to use to learn about physical computing or the IoT, but what language to use? You can do some IoT development in Scratch and C is powerful, but there is nothing much easier than Python – especially if you already know Python. Add to this the fact that there is a library, GPIO Zero, which makes working with GPIO lines and more sophisticated devices easy, and you can see that it is an even better choice. What is new is that with the Pi 5 none of the existing libraries in other languages work as it is not compatible with previous Pis. This makes GPIO Zero the only easy way to write IoT programs that work on all versions of the Pi including the Pi 5. It is the recommended way to work with the Pi 5 and hence even more attractive to use with all Pis. The only downside of using Python is that it can be too slow for some IoT applications and in this case you really do need C. However, Python is plenty fast enough for projects that involve actions on the tens of millisecond scale and, given how easy it is to perform sophisticated data processing in these situations, it often has the edge.

Welcome to the fourteenth edition. Over the fifty plus years since the first edition in 1968, the revisions have typically involved adding additional content based on the changes in curriculum. This new fourteenth edition is more about refining and updating content to provide a revision that ensures that the most current and relevant content is provided. Updated with the most current, relevant content, the 14th Edition places greater emphasis on fundamentals and has been redesigned with a more modern, accessible layout. Topics requiring a solid understanding of Power Factor, Lead and Lag concepts have been significantly enhanced throughout the text. The TI 89 Titanium calculator continues to be the choice for this text, and we have provided sufficient detail in the text to perform all the mathematical techniques required without having to refer to the calculator manual provided. In some cases, short-cut methods are introduced that are helpful in what they can perform in the shortest of time. In every respect we feel the TI-89 will serve the student well in their current studies and those to follow. Miniaturization has resulted in huge advances in electronic systems. For example, advancement in this technology has allowed cell phones that originally were the size of notebooks to now be smaller than a deck of playing cards. These so-called smartphones (devices), such as an iPhone, provide a multitude of extremely desirable features, in addition to being able to make simple telephone calls. Such features include a multi-touch glass capacitive screen, mp3 music player (iPod capability), web browser, email, text messaging, calendar and contacts, mobile game player, facial recognition, etc.
