175+ Cybersecurity Misconceptions and the Myth-Busting Skills You Need to Correct Them. Cybersecurity is fraught with hidden and unsuspected dangers and difficulties. Despite our best intentions, there are common and avoidable mistakes that arise from folk wisdom, faulty assumptions about the world, and our own human biases. Cybersecurity implementations, investigations, and research all suffer as a result. Many of the bad practices sound logical, especially to people new to the field of cybersecurity, and that means they get adopted and repeated despite not being correct. For instance, why isnt the user the weakest link? In Cybersecurity Myths and Misconceptions: Avoiding the Hazards and Pitfalls that Derail Us, three cybersecurity pioneers don't just deliver the first comprehensive collection of falsehoods that derails security from the frontlines to the boardroom; they offer expert practical advice for avoiding or overcoming each myth.

The Internet of Things (IoT) is one of the most disruptive technologies, enabling ubiquitous and pervasive computing scenarios. IoT is based on intelligent self-configuring nodes (also known as things) interconnected in a dynamic and global collaborative network infrastructure. In contrast, Cloud computing has virtually unlimited capabilities in terms of storage and processing power, speed, and is a more mature technology. Due to intrinsic nature of Cloud computing and IoT, they both complement each other. Recently, we are witnessing an increasing trend in exploiting use of both Cloud and IoT together. The goal of this book is to present the state of the art in the application of IoT, cloud, and cloud IoT.

Our book explains the movement to establish online trust through the decentralization of value, identity, and data ownership. This movement is part of ‘Web 3.0’, the idea that individuals rather than institutions will control and benefit from online social and economic activities. Blockchain technologies are the digital infrastructure for Web 3.0. While there are many books on blockchains, crypto, and digital assets, we focus on blockchain applications for Web 3.0. Our target audience is students, professionals, and managers. A blockchain application comprises protocols, code bases, use cases, and application interfaces. For a given blockchain application, protocols serve as the blueprints. A blockchain application has blueprints for the distributed ledger, native digital assets, cryptography, consensus, and smart contracts. Protocols are normally explained in a white paper so that potential adopters can understand the purpose and design choices made. Once rules are established, protocols are programmed into code bases, like Bitcoin core, Ethereum core, EOS, Hyperledger Fabric, Corda, Quorum, Chain or Multichain. Code bases are published as open-source software, typically on Github.

Tremendous growth in healthcare treatment techniques and methods has led to the emergence of numerous storage and communication problems and need for security among vendors and patients. This book brings together latest applications and state-of-the-art developments in healthcare sector using Blockchain technology. It explains how blockchain can enhance security, privacy, interoperability, and data accessibility including Artificial Intelligence (AI) with blockchains, blockchains for medical imaging to supply chain management, and centralized management/clearing houses alongside DLT. Generally, IoT devices use different types of networks like cloud, edge, fog computing, and their IP address. Moreover, for the massive heterogeneity of the connected devices, they use different types of data processing mechanisms. So, major issues regarding security, privacy, data management, data transmission, etc. have been raised. Furthermore, using these security gaps, intruders can get the advantage and alter information creating a hazard in the whole system. A lot of work has been conducted by the researchers to find solutions for such instances. Blockchain is the latest and one of the most fruitful generalized additions to these solutions.
