Amid the battles for production orders throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s, a new manufacturer materialized. Airbus Industrie formed in the early 1970s with French, German, Spanish, and British partners. The goal of the European consortium widely focused on saving the historic and valuable aerospace industry within Europe.
