In recent years, falsification and digital modification of video clips, images, as well as textual contents have become widespread and numerous, especially when deepfake technologies are adopted in many sources. Due to adopted deepfake techniques, a lot of content currently cannot be recognized from its original sources. As a result, the field of study previously devoted to general multimedia forensics has been revived. The Handbook of Research on Advanced Practical Approaches to Deepfake Detection and Applications discusses the recent techniques and applications of illustration, generation, and detection of deepfake content in multimedia. It introduces the techniques and gives an overview of deepfake applications, types of deepfakes, the algorithms and applications used in deepfakes, recent challenges and problems, and practical applications to identify, generate, and detect deepfakes. Covering topics such as anomaly detection, intrusion detection, and security enhancement, this major reference work is a comprehensive resource for cyber security specialists, government officials, law enforcement, business leaders, students and faculty of higher education, librarians, researchers, and academicians.

In recent years, falsification and digital modification of video clips, images, and textual contents have become widespread and numerous, especially when DeepFake technologies have been adopted in many sources. Due to the adoption of DeepFake Techniques, much current content cannot be recognized from origin sources. “DeepFake” refers to a method based on Deep Learning that produces content such as films in which one person’s face is swapped for another, facial expressions are exported for another or identity is replaced from one person to another. The levels are up to humor and entertainment only.

This book aims to study the recent techniques and application of illustration, generation, and detection DeepFake Content in Multimedia (e.g., Videos, Images, Textual Contents, etc.). The technology of deep forgery came and spread quickly and left great and dangerous effects. It is no secret that violation of privacy and impersonation are among the crimes and dangerous practices this technology causes, in addition to other social, economic, and political effects. Therefore, it became necessary to provide a counter to this technology or a court to verify the contents published on Sites that claim the validity of the data. We will work in this research to find a way to distinguish fraud and deep forgeries in some media content, such as images, which are the most prevalent on social networking sites and the most vulnerable to manipulation. The search will be dedicated to detecting fraud in pictures of people’s faces, specifically using some advanced learning algorithms, where many advances and deep learning algorithms can generate very accurate face images or replace some faces in videos or even text content to be very close the real one. We cannot even recognize the original content in many of these content. However, this project aims to give brighter about this sensitive field of study by illustrating, discussing, and specifying All the Deep Fake techniques and applications that are used mostly in Images, Videos, and Textual content, which are the most content that we use or watch every time on our life. Also, this project will focus on the techniques used to generate the DeepFake content. Currently, many applications and techniques use very advanced or non-believable processes to generate DeepFake that are very close to real or original.

With this accuracy of DeepFakes content, we cannot know if certain content could be original or fake. However, this book will focus on this thing; also, it will become the main source for people who would like to learn much and much about DeepFakes to protect themself and even to understand how DeepFakes can be worked, where the perception of DeepFakes scenarios can bring much attention to a lot of applications and software that we use on our smartphones and PCs. These could become DeepFakes softwares that are used or private content to generate DeepFakes media. This book will receive much attention from Cyber Security Centres and other agencies. DeepFakes became very challenging to identify and validate or even recognize origin content than fake ones. This book will also differ from all other books. It will become the main source to know recent techniques and applications of DeepFakes, which most published papers do not list all these contents deeply and do not focus on the wide applications of how DeepFakes could be worked. This book also will be the main source from all Computer Science, security, information theory, bio-metrics, bio-medical, information centers, data analysis, data understanding, cyber security, ..etc. Departments in universities, general government and government agencies, research centers, companies, organizations, Courts, and Information Originality focus on understanding and recognizing the origin and fake content. We trust this book is instructive yet much more than it is provocative. We trust it moves, driving per user to examine different inquiries, applications, and potential arrangements in making sheltered and secure plans for all.
