150 тысяч узников, не менее 80 тысяч убитых — Майданек считался одним из наиболее ужасных и одновременно прибыльных концлагерей СС. Из пяти комендантов двое были расстреляны самими нацистами за коррупцию. Здесь массово убивали «Циклоном Б» евреев, эксплуатировали и доводили до смерти советских военнопленных, угнанных в рабство граждан разных стран, польских политических заключенных, даже создали женскую зону и детский лагерь.
