This book is based on both Soviet and German records and tells the story of the extent to which Soviet forces used German aircraft during World War II. As well as the German aircraft purchased after the signature of the Ribbentrop-Molotov pact in 1939, it tells of the great many captured German aircraft that found their way into the Soviet Air Force. Virtually all major German aircraft types were captured and test-flown during the war, and many others were used operationally.
