This is a nice overview of arms and armor of the 11th to 17th centuries. It is highly illustrated with 130 photographs, many in full color. It is, however, much more than just a picture book as it details the evolution of armor over a 600 year period - from chain mail and a can-like helmet, to the fully articulated and highly decorated parade armor of the 17th century.
