The main objective of this book is to explore the basic concepts of digital logic circuits and Systems in a simple and easy-to-understand manner. This text on digital logic circuits with VHDL and Verilog programs has been crafted for all students of engineering, arts and science colleges of various universities in India. Considering the difficulty in logical analysis needed in this subject, more emphasis has been given on the problem-solving methodology. Considerable effort has been made to elucidate the logical explanations in a step-by-step manner. This book is organized with 15 chapters. The fundamental concepts, analysis, and design of digital logic circuits and systems are presented in a simple and elaborative manner. The digital electronics refer to devices and circuits that process digital signals which are coded in binary. The real world signals are analog and hence the field of electronics was dominated by analog devices and circuits before the invention of digital devices. The real world analog signals are converted to digital signals and processed by digital systems and after processing the digital signals are used either directly or converted back to analog for real world applications. The ADCs (Analog-to-Digital Converters) are used for converting analog signals to digital signals and DACs (Digital-to-Analog Converters) are used to convert digital signals to analog signals.
